Too much monitoring at work isn’t good

I have always hated and feared interviews. One of the reasons might be that I have been rejected more than accepted. Another reason is sometimes I have been asked unwanted questions because I am a woman.

But for the first time in my life, I was selected for a job but I rejected it in the end. I am kind of happy that I rejected it, even though I needed that job very much.

I believe a job is like a relationship. It never works when one side always tries to monitor the other one. Of course, programmers/employees are responsible for their work. However, companies should give their programmers some flexibility. You can’t force them to code every second of their working hours.

Let’s get into the experience I faced in a recent interview.

I Applied for a Backend Developer Position

I am a full-stack developer, but I love being a backend developer. I am very good with Node.js and I work with the NestJS framework.

The job requirement was at least two years of experience. I had four. I believe this is one of the main reasons I got the call for the interview.
